he liked to think
the world made sense
and that expedient reason
was the currency
of metaphysics
and that she
could be quantified.


ii.
she scattered the next constellation
and pursed her lips, gently
blowing the stardust
out of the frame.

"these voids,"
she noticed,
"are home such as
no man."

this quadrant rang true
as she kicked her shoes off
and let the dark redeem
her formation.

"darling, i missed you,"
she vacantly relayed
while sobbing.


iii.
his processors kept
the basement lab
cozy, as the wires
wrapped around
her limp limbs.

he was certain
he was almost
there.


iv.
her sector
was overpopulated
suddenly,
as the wandering stars
attempted reclamation
of their systems.

"stay,"
she lamented
with her gauss teeth
splintering.

the black
flooded fast
with all hues
and all gravity,
and her pulse
wavered.


v.
"there it is,"
he decided,
as the galaxy
died.
