Figure A.

have you?
or have you not?
for afterward all
that's left is rotten.

I taught my veins to live
without a rhythm;
I gave away my heart
and received venom.

I ask, know you?
or know you not?
Is living possible
when love is stopping?

The pulse I longed to give
now mocks my steps;
I would tear my heart to shreds
to quell the hectic.

go you?
or go you not?
Is there escape from
the web I'm caught in?

I wish my mind was cold
and body steel;
I wish I lived free from
pain and feelings.

and so, know you?
or know you not?
the interface is
giving me the option.

I have one question
before this begins:
no feeling left?
and with a smile, transcend.

Figure A.01

the smile gone,
and epidermis peeling.
I swear my veins
are pouring from the ceiling.

with every bone
breaks a second thought;
will I survive to know
that I forgot?

the heart arrested
me upon the table;
in search of peace
I lost a rhythm stable.

to simply breathe
is a punishment;
and with a final scream,
humanity is spent.

Figure A.031

I'm executed
in a metal hull;
thoughts formulaic,
coldly rational.

my input sensors
do not process pain,
but there is one addendum
they did not proclaim:

I am a servant
in an army leaden.
we serve remorseless
with all feeling deadened.

we've filled so many fields
with faces torn;
our master grinning,
gaining worldwide scorn.

Figure A.04

the sky ignites
and every shell is scrambled;
it is counteraction
from the ones we trampled.

the ground is littered
with our silver limbs;
"remember memory!"
their battle hymn.

the shrapnel severs
my hydraulic lines;
my wiring faults
and can't uphold my spine.

and as I calculate
my time of death,
my sensors comprehend
my lover's breath.

Figure B.

have you?
for I have not.
there is no organ
amidst the copper.

each spark's a short
and every beat's hydraulic;
my clicking voice is
how the gears fall fickle.

I ask, know you?
for I know not.
my memory failed
and I've forgotten.

I cannot process
the data stream;
corrupted sectors
far beyond redeeming.

go you?
for I go not,
my chassis pierced
my CPU inoperable.

every actuator's
giving out;
my rusted elements
are shrieking loudly.

at last, know you?
for I know not:
what was existence
and what lies beyond it?

I have but questions
as processes end:
can I yet dream?
because the view is splendid.

Figure C.

are you?
for I am not.
my exoskeleton
became my coffin.

I longed forever
to escape my world,
and now my form
is but lamented swirling.

know me?
for I do not.
I spent my essence
turning life to copper.

I traded ends of nerves
for fingers steeled;
I gave my heart away
for numbness wielded.

go you?
for I have gone.
I am a whisper
underneath an opera.

I have sacrificed
my entity.
not even my mind
remembers me.

know you?
now I cannot.
I feel my voice
becoming ever softer.

I am a question
spoken into wind:
can I restart
and gain what I intended?

what are the odds you'd hear it?

I must say I'm quite impressed. I'm not entirely sure if I'm getting it the way it's intended, but if so: bravo.

My first impression is that it was about unrequited love. The pain of that borderline obsession unreturned driving one to levels of emotional agony. And slowly the speaker trades this agony for apathy... he steels himself against emotion, basically selling his humanity until all that's left is a cold husk, a robot in the guise of a human. In the end he realizes that it was all for naught... that he would rather feel than to be nothing. Might not be your impression, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
